About

Bill Long

Engineer. Leader. Navy veteran. 30 years in the stack, AI-first for the last three.

Bill Long started his technical career in the U.S. Navy, operating nuclear systems aboard a fast attack submarine. That background — precision under pressure, zero tolerance for failure, clear chain of accountability — still shapes how he approaches software.

Since leaving the Navy, he's spent 30 years building and breaking things across virtually every layer of the stack: mainframes, Unix systems, enterprise .NET applications, cloud infrastructure, and now AI-powered platforms.

For the past three years, AI has moved to the center of his work. He builds with LLMs daily — designing agentic systems, integrating LLM APIs into production applications, using AI-assisted development to dramatically accelerate delivery, and helping organizations figure out how to adopt AI without the hype and without the risk.

Today he runs ElectricBlue AI out of the same conviction that has guided his entire career: technology should solve real problems, and the people building it should know what they're doing.

He holds an MBA in IT Management (WGU, 4.0 GPA). He's been a lone-wolf consultant, a startup co-founder, a Director of Engineering, and everything in between — which means he understands your problem from more angles than most.
